  • I use a Ring Light - will this be a problem?
No, don’t worry, you won’t have any problems here.
  • What distance should the light be from the eye?
    About 10cm - 15cm
  • When should the system not be used on a client?
The treatment of pregnant or breastfeeding persons may only be carried out after prior consultation with a doctor. In case of doubt, treatment should be avoided. The system should not be used if the treated person has any of the following symptoms in the area of the eye where the light from the system may shine: abrasions, keloid – or unhealed scars, herpes, psoriasis, other infectious or inflammatory skin diseases, fungal infections, wounds, sunburn, neurodermatitis, skin cancer. The system should not be used if the user or the person being treated has the following symptoms: Epilepsy, polymorphous light dermatosis, photosensitivity, radiation or chemotherapy, hemophilia. The system should not be used if the user or the treated person is taking photosensitizing medication such as neuroleptics, systemic dermatics and antiepileptics.
  • Which lash adhesive bases should I use?
You can use common lash adhesive bases, but not transparent bases or bases made of glass. Daylight could be reflected through the glass and thus prematurely curing the adhesive dot.
  • Does UV light harm the eye?
The UV/LED Light won’t hurt your eyes! You just have to make sure that neither you nor the customer look directly into the light and our kits have protective glasses to protect your eyes. The lamp shines from above onto the closed eyelid and never directly into the eye. Also you as a lash artist have no direct eye contact with the light and are additionally protected by our UV safety glasses. If you expose the open eye to UV light for a longer period of time, for example minutes: Yes! We only expose to the closed eye for 1-3 seconds. Therefore: No! (Sunbeds also have UV light. A tan/pigmentation only starts after about 8 minutes). The hand lamp actually has a lovely warm feeling for the clients and there is no stinging sensation which is a huge bonus!
  • Which technology do this system work with?
Our system works smoothly with any technique: no matter 1 to 1, finished fan, volume technique, mega volume, etc.
  • How do I remove the eyelash extension? Which remover should I use?
You can use our Strawberry Cream Remover by soaking as long as possible; minimum 15 minutes and gently removing with the mascara wand or tweezers.
  • Is the adhesive oil resistant?
The adhesive works great despite oil contact. Please do not rub the eye area vigorously though as this will damage your natural lashes. You still need to keep your lashes lovely and clean and have maintenance every two weeks to keep them looking full and fresh.
  • What is the lifespan of the lamp?
The approximate life of the lamp is an incredible 30,000 hours! If you calculate a treatment time of 1.5 hours per customer (which is already a lot, since refills are usually faster), this means that you can treat 20,000 customers with the lamp. If we assume that you treat 40 customers per week (5×8 customers per day) – also quite a lot – then this means that the lamp theoretically lasts for 500 weeks of continuous work. So about 9.5 years. And here we have calculated that the lamp is permanently on during the treatment – which is not even the case. So you can multiply the values well and good even times 3 or times 5. Obviously be careful with your hand lamp and try not to drop it or bang it.
  • Does the system work with all lashes?
Yes, our UV/LED Eyelash Extension System works with all types of lashes, regardless of brand. Whether Mink Lashes, Silk Lashes, Cashmere Lashes, Easy Fan Lashes, Flat Lashes, Premade Lash fans & Co!
  • How does the UV/LED Light work?
The new UV LED lash extension system was developed by scientists and engineers utilizing LED light technology. It represents a revolution in the field of eyelash extensions, as the LED visible light is essential for curing the glue. Unlike the fast-drying conventional eyelash extension glue, the adhesive vapor emitted is no longer as intense. This innovative system requires significantly less glue compared to traditional methods, making it more cost-effective and offering a longer shelf life. With the implementation of this system, aspiring eyelash artists will find it easier to excel in their craft. However, some lash artists still have doubts about this system. Here are a few frequently asked questions and answers that aim to address any concerns you may have. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
  • How is the UV light released?
The UV light can be initiated via the foot pedal.
  • I wear Magnifying Glasses, is this a problem?
Wearing safety glasses is not mandatory, so you can wear our system without safety glasses and with magnifying glasses instead. The reason is quite simple: the goggles are an additional safety gadget, but not mandatory. Why? You just have to avoid looking DIRECTLY into the light. But why would you do this? You guessed it: There is no reason for this, you would have to hold the lamp head in front of your eye on purpose – and that makes no sense. The light shines down normally and has no contact with your eyes. It is therefore not absolutely necessary to wear the safety goggles.
  • Is it friendly to beginner lash artist?
Yes, of course, it is very easy to operate, not affected by various environments, and can increase the speed of grafting, giving you a sense of accomplishment.
  • Can allergies still occur
Yes of course...however... Our experience shows that up to 8 out of 10 clients who previously had an allergy and therefore could no longer wear lashes are symptom-free with our IllumiUk system. This means that allergies no longer occur. In rare cases, however, allergies do occur, and these are extremely sensitive customers. So there is no guarantee for being “allergy-free”, but our system shows a high effectiveness with many female customers!
  • How do I store the glue?
The glue should be stored in the supplied pouch to protect it from UV light. It should also be stored in a cool and dry place if possible, but never in the refrigerator.
  • Does the Adhesive contain Cyanoacrylate?
Although it is a UV LED system, our glue still contains cyanoacrylate. In the course of our extensive series of tests, we found that completely cyanoacrylate-free glues can be manufactured but perform poorly in practice. Curing would be more difficult and slower. Also, the room would have to be heavily darkened to prevent the glue dot from curing directly. Our glue does not have these problems. Curing is lightning fast and the room does not need to be darkened either.
  • Do I have to shake the UV glue before used?
Yes, you should shake the glues for about 30 seconds so that the ingredients mix well.
  • What is the shelf life of the glue?
When stored correctly, the glue has a shelf life of 6 months. Unopened, the glue has a shelf life of 1 year.
  • Does this have the CE certification?
Yes of course. The head lamps have been safety tested and the CE Mark is EN62471
  • Does this work with all lashes?
Yes - Illumi UK works with all types of lashes, regardless of brand. Whether Mink Lashes, Silk Lashes, Cashmere Lashes, Easy Fan Lashes, Flat Lashes, premade lash fans & Co!
